I searched the gimpchat site but no mention of this:
http://www.gimptalk.com/index.php?/topi ... -gimpchat/
Apparently it's fixed now.
Gerard.

When I logged on, it said it was temporarily unavailable for maintenance.

I am having problems with the registrar. They didn't auto-renew the domain and never sent an email stating there was a problem. They have changed a lot since I first started using them as my registrar and they just implemented a new website and new control panel, which has tons of problems. Their notification system is completely broken.

Yet, their billing system is working great. :hehe

We will just have to wait and see if they can get things straightened out over the next couple of days. I have a feeling the saga is not over and it's going take a few more phone calls and emails to get things completely fixed.

I felt like an addict without a fix yesterday. Didn't realize how much I love this site. Glad you got us back in business 'Tux.

I was just as bad Drac! I was going insane. I actually ended up doing a tutorial though, so maybe that extra time did come in handy.

Thanks Tux, I appreciate your efforts to fix this. I hope it's not too inconvenient.

It's not really fixed yet. The page you are seeing is from the the registrar APLUS. There appears to be global propagation problems and/or other issues relating to the registrar. Depending on where you are and what DNS servers you happen to be using, you might get this website or you might get the registrar's page.

BellSouth DNS servers out of Atlanta seems to be having major problems with the propagation. I had to switch over to open DNS to make a consistent connection on my end.

I may have to transfer over to a new registrar but I'll give it another couple of days before I act.

APLUS is who i went with for the new domain i just bought. :)
Their DFB c-panel is quite strange.I am not used to it, but i walked myself through it.

Once i got the hang of it things went pretty smoothly.
Is that the panel you use?

I forgot that I use OpenDNS (208.67.222.222; 208.67.220.220) which is probably why I'm not seeing any problems with the webpage like others are. I use OpenDNS for security reasons and have been using it for several years now. :)

That looks like a hosting panel Rod. I don't use APLUS for hosting. Just domain registration. I utilize cPanel with my host.

APLUS's domain management CP is brand new and it has major problems. Notifications are completely broken. I'll say this for APLUS. They have been a good registrar for many years but they have changed hands quite a few times. It appears they are now heading downhill. They have a terrible reputation on the hosting side.

The problem might be a propagation issue but from my perspective, APLUS caused the problem in the first place.

Yep. That's why you aren't seeing any issues. I normally use my ISP's DNS servers but I sometimes use OpenDNS.

Yes that is the c-panel for my hosting at Awardspace.

Thanks for the heads up Tux.So far i haven't had a problem.Even my domain name worked almost immediately.
We will see what happens i guess. I am going by the month anyway. No more yearly prescriptions for my hosting. :)
