:snap this photo of a colorful water oak in my yard. It's getting to be just past the peak around here but there is still some nice color out there. Maybe I'll be able to get a few more later today, when I'm out and about.

It would be cool to see other fall photos so post 'em if you got 'em.

Very beautiful Tux.
Our Oaks don't turn into those vivid colors in the Fall. Most of them turn brown. Most of all our colors come from the different types of Maples.

sidenote? The maple leaves on my Avatar are mostly from my trees. The Oak ones are from "O"'s.

That is beautiful. I was wishing I had taken my camera with me to get fall color around Eugene, OR. There was so much of it.

I took the liberty of putting a fall sky behind yours, GnuTux. It's a gorgeous picture. Thanks for sharing.

very nice shot. looks like maybe you were getting the wind and snow off Lake Erie. We are a couple hundred miles North east of there, straight up I-81 to Thousand Islands Bridge. No sign of snow here yet but lots of wind.

I just took a quick pic to send to my friend who moved to Texas and at the time didn't notice the cardinal on the wire

I actually just shared the link to this image before but why not direct now. Of course I hypersat the result using a similar flow to the fake polarizer thread I recently started here. :)

The fall colors were spread out over a month and a half around here so the overall effect was rather blah. :(
But I did manage to find some color.
A nice clump of quaking aspens...

...and the pin oak that shades my back porch.

Not much colour hereabouts, but I took some pictures walking back from town this morning:

Mostly yellows coming off the trees:

It was a bit of a grey day:

And it's been damp enough for the fungi to be thriving:

But the locals try their best to add a little colour to the world:

I just finished taking this picture; a little drizzly outside but it is 64F right now. Have no idea what type of flower it is, but the fact that it's blooming so deep into Fall is cool. Yes; did enhance it some (just a little; honest injun). :)

edit:

for the record, thought I would share the SOOC (EXIF intact) too. Not the RAW though; just the additional JPEG that my Leica VLUX-1 creates along with the RAW. :)

Looks like a Petunia to me Lyle. I can't believe you still have flowers. Mine have all been pulled out a month ago. You must be farther south. I like the look of the drizzle on the petals.
