I'm not sure what the weather is in other places but In Missouri a lot of people are dead over it.

I have family in Kansas City, Missouri. Just checked in WeatherSpark, it looks like it's going to get even hotter over the next few days.

We had a heat wave here in S.C during the first part of July. It lasted for about 10 days but it has since broken and we're back to normal or below normal temps, thank goodness!! I'm hoping it stays that way.

We are sure having a heat wave here. I just came in from soaking my garden again today and after yesterdays soaking everything looked almost dead. A lot of it is the winds that is drying it up so fast.
Tux, send me some of your rain please, I will even go out and sit in it. :rainumb

We had that same heatwave Tux. Been getting a lot of cool showers and the temperature's been very tolerable since, but the corn crop here is all dead unfortunately (why they try to grow corn here is anyone's guess since I've never seen a corn crop mature here; we are cotton country and the cotton's more then doing fine). Heart's out to those in the heartland that are still experiencing these abhorrent temperatures. I have my own theories, but I'll keep that to myself other then to say it's not based on climate change. :)

A few years ago our A/C went out in the middle of the summer heat so we bought a window unit and moved half the house into the bedroom until the unit could be replaced. This way we could at least watch TV and sleep in comfort. We continue to use the window unit at night during the summer months and leave the house around 78o During the day we just run the ceiling fan in what ever room we are in. Our resulting electricity bill has been consistently lower ever since.

It was 105 here yesterday and is supposed to be 106 today. I may just hose myself down a few times while I'm watering the plants. :hehe
