I know it probably hasn't been noticed recently, but I haven't been active very much. Things have been really messed up. I don't know if I mentioned it before but a cousin of mine and I lost contact with each other about 35 years ago. We just reconnected on facebook about two months ago and hit it off wonderfully. We were supposed to get together for my birthday and the day before this was to happen she died suddenly.
Then, one of the girls my wife taught overdosed on Heroin and died. As if that wasn't enough, my wife and I teach 5th grade girls for Sunday school, they're very close to us. Yesterday one of them, 10 years old, died suddenly. This plus our arthritis hurting more than usual has had me really down. I'm signed up with a dozen or so forums but this is the only one I really feel part of. I come here to relax and have a nice time but lately I haven't felt like having a good time. I need to shake this off and get on with life.

gms9810: so sorry to hear about all these blows that you and your wife have suffered. it's very understandable if having a good time and relaxing with gimp chat buddies isn't easily done right now! i hope you feel your appearances here are appreciated whenever they come - i've only been on this forum for a couple of weeks, but i think the atmosphere here is very warm, welcoming and acceptant. you and your wife will be in my prayers!

Hang in there, man. This too shall pass they always say. Focus on the future and your relationship and the past will fade into the distance.

Sometimes when I get down I spend more time with my dog. They never tire of the attention, are never judgemental, and will always shower you with affection unconditionally. I'm sure some of your animals give you the same comfort.

You'll always have friends here GMS.

Yeah, it will pass, I'll get over it, I'm just dreading going to a child's funeral tomorrow. The last one I was at was my son's. This was a really nice, fun girl. I was wrestling and playing with her 2 days before this happened. It's breaking my heart. Thanks' everybody for letting me rant.

It usually does, unless I'm hurting so bad I can't think right. Thanks.

oh, dear. that's sad.......

and young people dying is horrible. in the mid 90's my cousin died from cancer. she was in her 30's

my aunt never got over that but how can anyone?

you just have to remember them in your heart and take them with you as you travel through life.

As I think I mentioned somewhere my mom has had a difficult summer. she just got over mold allergy and this last Saturday was gardening, fell and fractured her hip.

the operation was a success and now she's in rehab. It's stressful for everyone but I come here to enjoy the projects people are working on and it helps to relax me.

So, hang in there, buddy.
we are all traveling on different paths in this Great Adventure but we can divert to places like this for a few moments
