Way too many famous folk have passed on this year. Just my little tribute to Jeannie's main man. :)

I never watched Dallas, but I loved, "I Dream of Genie"!

I was wondering if he was still alive. I remember years ago when he almost died with a heart attack. Remember the "Who Shot JR episode"

I can't honestly say I thought much of him.

Sad but then he was a drinker and had been given a 2nd chance with Liver Transplant. Maybe someone else should of had that liver but then he did have cancer....oh well.

I watched the latest Dallas and I have to say he looked awful but I enjoyed it....brought back some memories...RIP J.R.

That is one of the best "paintings" you have done! It really looks like it was painted with oils or acrylics.

:ditto

I never watched Dallas but I always thought Major Nelson was crazy. He was being chased by one of the most beautiful women on the planet, who could grant him any wish, yet he didn't seem that interested.

You have to take his story as a whole Deb. He has done a lot to share his experiences with transplants and made it his mission to let others, especially children, not to be worried about transplant operations and to take pride the scars that are inevitable because of such surgeries. Yes, he may not have been an angel in his younger days, but do you really know anyone that is?

Also, for those that commented on the artwork itself, though a significant amount was done in GIMP, if it wasn't for FotoSketcher, and Impressionist, it couldnt' have been done since I'm no artist. lol

I'm working with blending false color (adding color noise then blending it down with original before running Impressionist) to get the more painterly simplication look (as opposed to a hyped up photo which you would normally get with using filters). Thanks for those comments. :)

Yup, we all start off as angels and end up as angels; it's that middle part that gets a bit dicey :hehe

Unfortunately the angel phase ended abruptly for my two nephews (and I just got back baby sitting them while my brother and sister-in-law went to a concert in Atlanta) Odin. lolol

I, of course, was born and raised and continue to be a cherub. ;)

:)

What I liked about I dream of Genie was of course Barbara Eden.

I agree GMS; I agree. lol

The youngest Barbera Eden I ever saw was on an episode of Father Knows Best and she was drop dead gorgeous then so I know she had to have gotten a lot of eyes on the set. :)

Miss Eden did not age gracefully ... unfortunately for her she was stereotyped into the role of Jeannie and had difficulty finding work the remainder of her career.

She was also on an early episode of Andy Griffith. Amazing looks!! Wish it was a better quality video.
