Hello everybody, I took some pictures of the Pyrenees from the plane on my last journey. I really like this photo and I would like to improve it as much as possible. So I'd appreciate your help to achieve this. In my attempt I lost information of the edges of the mountains just at the background. Any idea? Thank you so much in advance, my friends. (I'm aware this is another great challenge) :) :tyspin

White balance, hue and saturation - changed the saturation of the colours separately. Copied the original, desaturated - average setting. On this one I ran retinex then I colour to alpha the colour layer. After that I merged them together.

Tough one Isabella. Lot of give and take when it comes to getting details and keeping the noise down at the same time and this indeed was an iterative process and it still needs some additional tlc. Used bilat grain extract/grain merge technique (mentioned many times; too lazy to link) to enhance the details for starters, but did way too many additional things that am too lazy to mention (steps needed for noise reduction mainly). :)

Dinasset, I love your outcome. You are a master in photography, so your outcome is very important for me. The background is great as it keeps all of the edges. Thank you so much :) :hi5

so great outcome yours lylejk, thank you so much. I understand what you say. It's everything an accurate balance in each photo, noise, details, colours etc...
I like your outcome as it is. :tyspin :yes

Thank you Marcello, It's a beautiful photo.
I like the previous outcomes, they are good. So It's been more difficult for me to get an acceptable one. :)
This is my try.

Here I have two photos I'd like you to take a look and play with them, as I'm learning and being more interested in photo manipulation. Thank you so much.
