My sister asked me to fix the eyes in these kids but it looks like a real challenge to me. If anyone would like to take it on, I would appreciate it. thanks

very good dinasset, nice job on the eyes. I didn't know what to do with Rylans (the boy) I see you removed the white mark on Nancy's lip, it looked like a tooth sticking out.

That's pretty good results Dinasset. I don't think you'll get it much better than this Molly.

I don't think so either Wallace. I don't know how a camera can do that much damage, the eyes were really weird.

Camera shake... more or less circular blur move. The whole image is damaged, but we are more sensitive to the damage to eyes (which makes it difficult to repair, repair must be perfect).

good job Charlie, not a very good picture to say the least.
These are the same kids taken the same day with a different camera.

Nice fix guys. Care to share how you did it? Just to help others who visit the thread.

@Rod
unfortunately (for the visitors) the eyes have been modified -in my case- with a patient and repetitive use of gimp tools:
- smudge
- paint
- clone
all performed with a very small brush and opacity to around seventy
It can be done better, but I get tired very soon when playing with manual adjustments: more patience is needed...I'm a lazy old man (for that reason you find me always searching for -or even writing- filters!

it's up to you whether to consider this one better of the previous one

(you may also take the two and merge...)

My method was
#1. 'Free select' around the overly shiny parts on the eyes and then using the 'Brightness/contrast tool' only adjusting the brightness to -127.
#2. Using the 'Filters/Enhance/AUMASK sharpening' to remove as much blur as possible w/o losing too much detail.
That's all I did to it.

Thank you very much dinasset and Charlie, I am sending them all to my sister in NC and she can pick the one she wants. Your last one dinasset is nice and sharp compared to the grainy look of the original. Thanks guys.
