Would anyone like the challenge of sharpening and smoothing this photo. The guy in the picture died suddenly a week ago and I was asked if I could crop, and fix it up a bit to get framed. Thanks in advance

How much do you want it cropped?
And is that really the highest resolution you've got? (760x1018 is not very hi res for a photo you want to frame)

This is very nice Dinasset, Now if we could just lighten up the skin a bit maybe with lightness and contrast it would be great.

This is my steps
1. Use Pat David's color correction via level to less warm
2. Use Iain fergusson's Ms nlmeans noise2 to reduce noise with setting 6, 2
3. Use my CCSS to adjust the sharpness, shadow, contrast

@Issabella, Sallyanne, Dinasset, Okyl168
You my get better results if you try running G'MIC>Testing>Garagecoder>Unquantize [jpeg smooth] on the image first, before trying any enhancements ..at least part of the reason the image tends to come-up grainy/freckly when you try enhancements is because of JPEG artefacts. Also, save as PNG when you're done.

First post on site, but photo restoration and repair is the area I am most fascinated with. I'm still in the learning phase, but I thought I'd give this a go.
