If any of you use the Midnight Sepia filter author: 'Cprogrammer' found under either
Filters->Photo->Midnight Sepia (midnightSepia.scm and functions.scm) or
FX-Foundry->Photo->Effects->Midnight Sepia (cprogrammer-midnight-sepia.scm)

There a bug that will cause a 'division by zero' error if the user selects a color that has equal values for Red, Blue & Green (RGB).
ie aaaaaa, 000000, ffffff, 333333 etc.

I have fixed the script, and am happy to post it here if anyone desperately wants it.
However, since it was written back in 2008, it has likely been superseded by a newer script or plugin by now anyway...
But if you use this filter often and been 'plagued' by division by zero script crashes, yell out ;)

So far I have not been able to find a way to notify the author Cprogrammer.
I have tried searching Google, and the Gimpchat and Gimptalk memberships.
I did find that the script is available from Gimpscripts.com, does anyone know how to contact this person?

PS I had never used this midnight sepia filter before the bug was found.
I just copied the Midnight Sepia's 'RGB to HSV' functions to use in the Glass Text v1.3 script change for dinasset.
Dinasset then discovered the bug while testing my script changes.

I searched the plugin registry for Midnight Sepia and got two hits, both uploaded by cprogrammer:

http://registry.gimp.org/node/3080
http://registry.gimp.org/node/10980

The second of which links to a support thread on Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/groups/gimpusers/ ... 423763223/ started by cprogrammer which should give you a way of contacting them.

This is the support link for that script (located in the script description on gimpscripts.com).

I have chased up your lead.
His last post on that Flickr group was 55 months ago :(
He did provide a gmail account. So I have fired off an email...not holding my breath that the account is still valid though. (Update - mail hasn't bounced - so that is a promising first step :) )
Thanks for your efforts Kevin and GnuTux.

Update: Cprogrammer has replied to my email and stated that he will correct his scripts soon.

It's really not properly a "sepia", but it's flexible, you can play with layers and colour and opacity; difficult to get a really nice result, at least for me, not a fun of sepia or other colourising techniques.
Also, due to the implicit problems in the colourise function, you better put negative values on the lightness...

Dinasset Image is from a tutorial I did ages ago; and I had to look up what a sepia is as I had no Idea but gimp does have a default one called Old Photo under filters/Decor

If you blend your super light sepia and your super dark sepia images you might actually come up with some pleasant-to-the-eye results.
