I found this old (1984) Pentax PC35 AF-M SE in a drawer today. I couldn't find the manual so I found a poorly scanned copy on the net, while good enough, I want to experiment with cleaning it up. Any tips or scripts that would help? I wouldn't bother asking but there are 32 pages. This cameras is very well made, in perfect condition, I figured why not see how it goes.

Here's a sample of what the manual looks like.

Thanks for the link but it doesn't work for me. So I went to the web site, did a search and the manual didn't come up either. I checked their WOT Reputation Scorecard and decided to stop. I've already checked a few other sites and all the manuals I've found are the same quality.

So now I'm going to use this PDF as an experiment and clean it up. I was hoping there was someone with experience may have a workflow in place. A nice new manual would be fine but a clean up excercise might be more fun!

You probably know that you can edit pdfs with open office and libre office?

Probably, the best tool for the task would be NuvolaTools
Too bad, although a Python script, it is Linux-specific (has too many linux environment dependencies if I understood correctly) and has to be rewritten(?) to make it work in Windows or Mac.
But maybe, there is a way to install all those dependencies and get it to work on Windows system? I think Ofnuts is one of the few here who is familiar with Python scripting language and could answer this question.

BTW, the script has a great potential, I'm actually surprised it hasn't been done already.

Thanks for the reply, I know you can make and edit PDF's with Open Office, but I don't think you can edit PDF's made by another program. In this case it's totally an image cleanup job. I will use Open Office to make the PDF now that I'm done the cleanup part.

Thanks for the tip, I'll check it out. I'm almost done the manual now, here's a before and after example.
