An Atlantis Pyramid Fractal

This polyhedra is a new fractal in Mandelbulber. Its a 4-sided pyramid shape with another inverted pyramid. I put it inside a 3-sided fractal in boolean mode. I used about 50% Gimp and 50% Mandelbulber to make it. For some reason it reminds me of a lost city of Atlantis.

Excellent work again Tas, it looks great...

@ Mainah_Ayuh, did you make that "Thank You" gif using the "Paint Paths in Steps" plugin?

Always glad to see where you've been and what you've been up to lately. They do say Atlantis is nice this time of year.

racer-x,

The GIF file is one found during internet browsing.

Thanks for the feedback guys :cool We are lucky we can learn from each other here.
I remember Wallace's marble tutorial got me interested in these great surfaces.

MDBB can make surfaces iridescent. I don't know how easy Gimp can do that. For iridescence you need movement which MDBB does with keyframing.

Looks like I've come against a problem.......

How to tile an Inca stone wall like this?

Reminds me of some of the DIFS fractals in Mandelbulb 3D. Synchronistic for me too as I have just started reading the Illuminatus trilogy for the second time. :melt

Mandlebulber can do cool stuff, but as I recall, it took way too many resources for my now 2014 PC to handle. lol

Cool stuff, Tas. :)

Hi Eris, the pyramid shape is a Diffs Polyhedra. I made an Inca stone wall tile in Gimp and put in a background with Gimp. Thanks for the Illuminati idea. I called this 'The Illuminati Algorithm'.
Lyle, your right about Mandelbulber and resources. Cryptocurrency mining computers are almost the right configuration. Most of the processing is done by GPU cards, in one box or many. I remind myself it's only art and only a hobby :)

Cool stuff Tas. You encouraged me - just a quick throw-together using Bryce, Mandelbulb3D and Gimp.

Hi Eris, Thats an interesting render. It's a Sierpinski triangle isn't it?

With MDBB people mostly do 'Hybrid' or 'Boolean' fractals. I'm mostly doing Boolean because each fractal can have a different 'material' to make it. This determines the coloring and texture of the fractal. Hybrid fractals share a common material. I'm finding out if hybrid fractals can have individual materials. There could be a coding reason why it's not possible.

Yeah, it's a Sierpinski. It's been a long time since I worked with M3D so I just did something quickly but I'll probably start doing some more serious stuff with it again soon. Might even make some .obj models from it and add UV maps to texture.
