Thanks MareroQ; icons are now back. I can't help but notice the new rendering option but don't see how to use it yet. How did you do the text (or did you do it the hard way :hoh ). lol

Cool stuff. New update works but I've not played too much with it yet (and still curious about the rendering option). :)

edit: I see; I don't have a graphic icon but just text. Rendering is just the name of the menu item itself and when chosen, you have either Normal or Highlight Loops. Also, can't figure house to linearly link nodes; linking all nodes creates a hodgepodge. lol

:)

To change the rendering options you need to click on the tiny arrow besides the button (or use View > Rendering menu)

Letters have to be made the hard way ;)
Maybe I'll draw a file containing all the letters and upload it to the website together with some other examples.

A minor issue; the File, Quit command is not working with this version.

X works fine for me, but I'll either wait for MareroQ or Mattia to share the update (whoever comes first; lol). :)

The latest version 0.8.0_test2
http://maxshare.pl/4i8
Knotter from Help Manual does not act. - I am helpless.
Windows knows the location - but he can not run index.html - when you delete index.html - Knotter (maybe) give the message at startup.

WISH LIST - add some options:
- Straight line
- Circle
It might ridiculous request (already parameters can be obtained from) - but such options please ...
Edit: removed link - newer version is further

Downloading it now but the host site that you chose is, well, not very intuitive and extremely slow. lol

Check out Ubuntu one MareroQ. I really like this free (for me and most but you can buy more storage but very unnecessary) host site and it allows direct linking too. Don't have to have Ubuntu to use it either; I always just upload my files from IE8. :)

I have to say this; Wow, Wow, Wow. The scale button option alone is worth the downlaod. Fantastic stuff. What would be cool, again, though is for knotter to automagically plot withing an object (with tolerance since I do want the natural overlap around the edges). Could make for some really cool renders. It also would be a cool way to implement single line fills. :)

About one case:
You have to brag - The program is brilliant - especially when it comes to the interface.
I'm sorry - if you were trying to compile my bad! (please try to raise yourself!)
Mattia is to have access to Windows - so it will be better ..

Just hard to use the host site MareroQ. Name of file was not what I expected (same as last time that I downloaded), and also you have to wait a few seconds before downloading and the download took about 4 to 5 minutes. I do complain a lot don't I. lol

Anyway, just felt compelled to convert the object that I posted earlier into a seamless texture and released it to Deviant (http://lylejk.deviantart.com/#/d5j45jh). Below's a Droste example using the texture. :)

Hi Lylejk.
I think the author is not interested in Windows.
Why?

Not sure MareroQ. He seemed to be interested earlier when he said he was going to compile it for Windows. Maybe he will indeed do so later. I shared the link to this thread at other sites since there were no Windows compiles at Sourceforge. Again, thanks for sharing this latest compile; it's really starting to look like a great program. I bet Erisian's playing with it too since he does like knots (as my memory serves me correctly). lol

:)

Just went to the Sourceforge site for Knotter and it still has the latest version being 0.7; they do have the color graphic for version 8 though (since I believe it wasn't part of Knotter until version 0.8). Just curious. :)

Can you show me an example of what you want?

If I understand correctly, you want to draw a shape and have it be filled some way?

I've asked my room mate to help me (he has Windows) hopefully next week Windows issues will be addressed and I can release a Windows build.

I've already uploaded the new screenshots but I want to fix the manual on Windows before releasing 0.8.

I see Mattia; makes sense. Also, yes. I've seen Peano and Hilbert single line fills, but only a few examples where they use these to fill random objects (and have no idea how that was done). It would be cool to be able to fill random objects with various knot patterns. Not sure how hard that would be. If the mask (en lieu of another term) had one color, then no knot pattern would try to go in that region, but, if the mask had another, then the not pattern would try to go there. Maybe set up a dot grid that's masked and the dots would of course be where the knots flow. How to make it adaptive such as the square vs. triangle pattern may be challenging though. :)

Also, just as a side note to MareroQ. I noticed that if I open the 0.8 test program for the first time, it opens fine, but if I open it a second time, the program crashes. It could be a interaction between the old directory (I renamed it to Knotter_old and the the new directory. I would have to open the program in the old directory and close the program, then open up the program in the new directory and all's well. Decided just to move the knotter.exe from the new directory to the old and delete the new directory and then all's well. Again, it could be just an interaction, but wanted to give you a heads up on that. :)
