Haven't had any luck getting the bots to create them, so did a search and found this cool site. Added some embellishments to the result (and it could use more tlc, but left it be). :)

In the meantime generated the following transformations using CIRCLEtoSQUARE/SQUAREtoCIRCLE currently available on G'mic.

PS:But they reveal also that the function you found and used seems to be not perfect (in the sense of being a perfectly composed "circle"). Or maybe the input was not suitable. IDK.

David can do it, it answered:
Looking at the images, it seems that this could be easily doable if we know how to define the mapping
(u(x,y),v(,y)) corresponding to this transformation.
No time to dive into the maths right now, so if you find the formula somewhere on the web, let me know, I’ll try implementing it.

Lyle, please, look into PIXLS and tell David whether you can find that mapping.
