ADD INFO
if you click on Motif ( under Replication) you are able to modify the current motif and add it to the list clicking at the bottom of the screen "Apply Motif"
see my captured screen
Image
but when you re-start the program the new motif is lost.
Help how I can save it?

Well, finally getting the hang of this Marcello. This program definitely can make some cool frame borders. :)

Looks like you can actually make artwork (not just border designs) for sure too Marcello. :)

Dowload Mutiara 0.13.1_Win_32bit.zip (9,5 Mb):

Marero if you can tell me the compile instructions or PM them to me i can compile a 64 bit version also. :)
Thanks for doing this for us. :bigthup

Hi Rod.
This compilation does not is the wonderful version of Samj
http://www.aljacom.com/~gimp/divers.html
I decided to try to build Gimp 2.9 according to the indications in Yoor thread
http://gimpchat.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=12271
Jehan ordered http://wiki.gimp.org/wiki/Hacking:Building/Windows
I created this new (for me the environment) and learned to build 2.9.1
It works well (2.9.1 32bit) - but not for multi-stroke (the problem MyPaint).

Jehan probably not answer questions amateurs ...

In this environment, the same build Mutiara (after compiling the required libraries) runs smoothly.
Little problem is to add the missing files * .dll
A bigger problem was - where (and in what directory) - mostly resolved..

Does anyone know of a linux binary. I don't know what to do with the Source code.

I have worked out how to run from the command line but it says my c. compiler isn't working. There are various c. compilers listed in synaptic, I don't know which one to pick.

Just realize that I said Marcello when it should be MareroQ when it came to attributing the compilation of this cool program. My apologies and thanks again MareroQ. :)

I thought I said that you compiled Mutiara instead of MareoQ, Marcello, but I don't think I did so here; did so elsewhere and I corrected myself there. Just an ignore. lol

64 bit & rpm ok ?
I grabbed the 64 bit rpm. It seems to run ok on my Linux Mint 17.1
. If I select the last option on the toolbar which is a squiggly line it freezes and my system revs. Otherwise it seems to work.

Have discovered that the detail level is what causes the freezing. :yes Once I cut that down it works fine. The shapes are controlled by bezier curves.

Thanks Marcello for the help file. :tyspin

You are welcome Kimba!

Yes the detail level can stay 10 so no freezing;

I want to show this setting, with several motifs returns a canvas like a fractal!!
( here I created a new motif)

Image

If you create a new motif when you restart Mutiara it will be lost
BUT
if you save the work like a mutiara file when you retrieve the file (File>Open) you will find the new motif!

Thanks Marcello, I haven't made anything worth posting yet but I did see that you have to save a motif to a file.

Mutiara has died. I have had a few upgrades to Linux Mint since I last used it and now it only produces empty png files. Its own files are working but I cant produce a png anymore. I also tried reinstalling and discovered I can't run rpm's anymore either. I had to use Alien to make a deb. Either way I still end up with a blank png file. I don't know if I should try compiling as I don't know what I’m doing.

I have been trying to compile Mutiara but I am getting confused. I got this message: No package 'gtk+-3.0' found
No package 'glib-2.0' found
No package 'gthread-2.0' found
No package 'gio-2.0' found
No package 'gobject-2.0' found
No package 'cairo' found
No package 'gee-0.8' found
I can see various versions of these packages but I don't actually know which to get. There are separate packages for different programming languages. Should i get the ones for Vala which is what it is written in. I have no idea.

I grabbed this as I thought it was a Windows exe and might run under Wine but it has bin and share files like a linux app. I’m confused.

Found the EXE. Thanks MareroQ. It works under Wine although the second time I ran it ,it thru up an error and closed, but when I re-opened it was fine.
Here's the error message in case it means anything:
