Well, I've got the chrome thing down now. I just had to add an image to the world environment.

Yes. Environment images provide right reflections on chrome.

I figured out how to import path svg shapes I made in Gimp into Blender and convert to 3-D mesh. I need to work on my edges, but otherwise pretty good....

Thats Good. To get edges use Edge Split. (Dont add Subdivision Surface)

Thanks, but I wanted to smooth the edges, not sharpen them.

Anyway, I found that the spherical E-Maps I use in Gimp, also make a great World Environment Texture...

Using SVG paths, before you convert to a mesh, you can go to object properties and use the bevel function to create tubes.

Thanks Erisian, that's nice to know for future projects...

Question: How can I force Key-Frames to use "Linear" motion as opposed to "Curve" (or whatever) motion that is default?

Example:

Thanks Lurifax73 for that tip. It helps a lot when adding text to the gears.

I figured out how to change the key-frame interpolation from the default "Curve" to "Linear". I had to do it in the Graph Editor.
