Appreciate the words, Patrice; saw your comment at work earlier (but only got home a hour or so ago; lol). Anyway, the strokes started with the image being fed into FotoSketcher (free program) using Painting 11 (new preset; even better than Painting 10) and then enhanced the strokes further using G'MIC (Anisotrophic Smoothing followed by lylejk stencil (thanks again to David for keeping this preset for me; different then the current stencil) which I created a convolution layer by dup and running Bilateral Smoothing (note, all the things mentioned besides FotoSketcher are G'MIC presents) and merging down. The convolution layer I set to Grain Merge and dup/adjust opacity to taste to get the desired result. I then use ImpressionFX (no longer free, but the version I use is over a decade old and free; lol) paper preset to add the glints to the strokes. Way too tired and lazer to do image tutorial. lol Still, following just the FotoSketcher and G'MIC steps hopefully aren't too difficult. If you do download and install the program. just don't install any of the additional software that the installer may ask you too (not sure if he still adds options like that; he did in the past but gives you an out. I suppose the guy has a right to make money by adding additional things). Don't believe I can link FotoSketcher site here, but not too hard to do an online search. ![]() |

Patrice, just a simple hint: if you do not have the possibility to install/use FotoSketcher, you may try with nice results the artistic filters of G'MIC. Look in the following post a sample of the possibilities, starting from this original: Attachment: original.jpeg [ 181.92 KiB | Viewed 479 times ] |

Just a simple trilogy: Attachment: using Painting.jpeg [ 1.02 MiB | Viewed 479 times ] Attachment: using PaintWithBrush.jpeg [ 541.51 KiB | Viewed 479 times ] Attachment: using VectorPainting.jpeg [ 352.39 KiB | Viewed 479 times ] And, as you very well know, G'MIC fiters have flexible parameters... Give them a try. |

PixLab wrote: https://deepdreamgenerator.com/ddream/uq8qoj9r0sj Then I used a Free Libre Open source AI upscaler [ Image ] The upscaled result's awesome. Need to check into this Open Source AI upscaler. Hopefully there's an online version since I'm sure it's likely Linux only. lol ![]() edit: Clicked your link and low and behold, there's a Windows version. lol Toyed with an ugly low rez image of me and, though even uglier, not that bad considering. lol Thanks again for the link, Patrice. ![]() |

Julius Caesar Mosaic ddg: https://deepdreamgenerator.com/ddream/4p7oe3vkcqx Used Upscayl (thanks again to Patrice) and box descaling (G'MIC) since the rez was way too big. lol Used a few additional G'MIC enhancements and added some texture to the result. ![]()
