Is there a way to add plugins to Apophysis 2.09?

I revisit Apophysis every now and again, use Apophysis7 though, which has a folder structure whereas 2.09 comes as a single executable.

I would say, have Apophysis 2.09 in its own folder (if you have not already got it there) make a subfolder Plugins and I think it should find them.

This running in linux (WINE).

I use Windows 7 and I have it on my desktop I don't have a plugins folder. Also which Apop version is better? 2.09 or 7x? Or do they both do the same?

I like Apophysis7, it has a long list of built in variants but end of the day it is what suits you.

I use linux but Apophysis is a Win application so I have to use WINE to run it.

I suggest making a folder somewhere, say C:\apophysis Move the exe file there, then a shortcut to it.

Make a sub folder C:\apophysis\Plugins for any plugins you come across. AFAIK not that many.

I made the switch to apop 7x and I think I'm gonna like it. :) The only plugin I'm missing is Linear 3D. Anyone know where I can find it?

the second one looks hopeful, like you might be able to tweak it to make some cool 3D fractal.

I'll probably make more fractals since I switched from 2.09 to apop 7x

I don't see the "scripts" tab on Apophysis 7x. I'm using windows 7 64 bit.

You might have to go back to an earlier version for the scripting function. I have a ver. 15 in my archive and that has scripting.
I see at Sourceforge there is a 15C but I am using 15D, where that went to, I do not know.

There is this:

http://download.xyrus-worx.org/apophysi ... 5d_hf1.zip

This is only an update with 32/64 bit executables. Slightly different file size to the one I am using (17094365B vs.17094698B)

The latest version (32bit for me) is much-much smaller that this, 4.5 MB vs 17 MB Why? I do not know (might not be packed?).

Hmm, I'm not sure what version I'm using. I think it's 7x Version 16. I guess I don't need to worry about the scripting function then. I downloaded it from here: http://sourc.eforge.net/projects/apophy ... rce=navbar

I was just curious as to what the script tab does and how to get the scripts to work.

If you do not need scripting stick with what you have.
Otherwise, you need to download the last version 15C which is also 32/64 bit so should be ok with your installation.

"http://sourceforge.net/projects/apophysis7x/files/Old versions/"

edit: rhetorical question: Why do windoze users put spaces in their file names ? - I suppose because they can, but still not good practice

Here is a fractal 'garden', Apophysis7X15D with a couple of scripts applied. Several renders finished off in Gimp.

Just a quick one-off to show that symmetry is not always necessary.

Beautiful fractals! :coolthup
These fractals are protected on any license or are free for public use?

I made them from tutorials I saw on deviant art.. so I guess you can use them.

I have a question about the plugins in Apo Shack which is located here: http://phoenixkeyblack.deviantart.com/a ... k-98807426

My question is, which ones work and which ones don't?
When you download it and open it, there are plugins with out being in a folder and then there are 2 folders with plugins but some work and some don't and it's just too confusing. Who ever created this folder with the plugins needed to separate them better. It'll take hours just to get through the ones that aren't in the folder, let alone go through ones that are in the folder. I use Apop7x

I wouldn't worry about those plugins. In my Apophysis 7x they all seem to be there already.
