There is an app for iPad to make polygon art. It sounds great but it's not available to download in the USA. Is an app something that can be downloaded in one country and the file sent to another country?

I found this, not sure if it will help...

couldn't you just try to run polygon(izer) on the ipad. you might have to turn on javascript.

I would have no idea how to use polygonizer on iOS. I don't think you can put in a program unless it's been made into an app.

Wallace, I am afraid that program is just to translate sound to graphics or something like that.

but it's not an app. it's just a javascript page like any other web page. If you can browse to a page then you use it. It's not a program it's just a webpage.

that should work.
Or you can just try going here I've uploaded to a site.
http://unurbandictionary.comule.com/polygon/index.html

but if you can use your index.html locally on your ipad, it's better since you don't need internet connection for it to work.

you should be able to open index.html in safari (see link below)

The filename in the address bar didn't work, I am gonna go to my tablet and bookmark the link you just put up! Crossing fingers!

That opens up perfect, but now I have to figure out how to get a picture into the space. IPads don't work like windows, and I am not sure how to have two different screens open at the same time like on the computer. But that is for another time, thanks so much for putting the program where I can get to it.

Have you tried File -> Open File and browse to your local copy of index.html?

Try this version of polygon(izer), I have changed it so that you can click to browse to an image file instead of having to drag and drop.

I've updated this version to the site http://unurbandictionary.comule.com/polygon/index.html as well

it'll look like the below, where you can click on "choose file" instead.

Let me know if this works for you.

Wow, that looks pretty promising. I will go try it out now! I am assuming the download is for the computer, which is nice so I won't have to have the picture I want to use put on my desktop, I can just browse!

*yes, this works to browse a pic on the iPad. You are amazing. Now I want to learn how to code, but I think it would be too hard, lol. Next I need to go allow javascript, because the program isn't putting in the points by touch or even the random ones.

OK, my javascript was already turned on. I am going to go find my stylus and see if that works to put points onto the picture.

*drat, no luck.
the program on the iPad doesn't make vertices, so it can't polygonize the picture.

great, i expect to see some art soon! Holding my breath!
don't forget you might have to click "delete all vertices" to start it off (it's a minor bug on chrome i found).

YEs, I did delete all vertices. I tried also the 25 random vertices button. Sigh. I am going to try one more time and see what I can do. I am glad I found my stylus, I forgot how nice they work, lol.

* :gaah No luck. I cannot get vertices in any way. I suppose it is hard coded for a mouse rather than a touch screen.

if it's like Chrome, you might have to zoom out a bit to see your work/vertices

I don't think so, because when I tried the 25 random vertices, it would have been obvious as that always drastically changes the photo.

you're thinking of the original triangulator app which draws some triangles when you randomly add 25 vertices.
polygon(izer) doesn't do that it just adds 25 vertices with no polygons drawn because you haven't told it where to draw the polygons.
