I love the new drag drop symbol widget they added. I can't wait to add my own.

Measure tool works great also.

You can actually create a symbol in the document and add it to your symbols. Sort of like Adobes "smart objects".

Pretty nifty! :)
Any document with symbols can serve as a source for a symbol library. Simply copy it to the symbols directory in your configuration directory (typically share/inkscape)

I wonder if you can export a bitmap image with layers like you can with Illustrator. I usually export an Illustrator file with layers as a .psd and open it with gimp and it works pretty good. I don't have Inkscape but that would be the one thing I would look for before getting it.

Or exporting svg with laters that would open up in gimp as path layers would be good too.

No, Inkscape can't export psd files but it can export each layer as individual svg file which you can open as layers in gimp

@Rod Cool additions! I've been playing with .91 for a couple hours and haven't noticed any major problem so far. :bigthup
