I've toying with the idea for awhile. The whole alphabet encapsulated in the letter A, making up the letter A, with the Z being the cross member. It still is not exactly what I want, but I'll keep tweaking.

That's an interesting idea Steven8, I like it. :bigthup

Thank you, sir. I tried one new tweak with a heavier font. I like it much better. What do you think?

I like it very much. Did you do the tapering in Inkscape? If so, how? I can't figure out how to taper an object in Inkscape.

Might be a really neat font set if you do the whole alphabet.

Invoke the magick incantation :) (not absolutely necessary in Inkscape 0.91 but I still do it anyway)

Object to path (shift-ctrl-c)
Ungroup (shift-ctrl-g)
Combine (ctrl-k)

The text is now a path, use Path Effects and Envelope Deformation.

Then you adjust the four paths individually to suit.
Group that as an object, rotate.

*sigh* I guess this is what comes of trying to be clever and missing the mark. The whole design is supposed to BE the A of the alphabet. Oh well.

Thanks, Rick2005! I looked at the envelope deformation, but wasn't sure how to make it work.

Interesting idea!
You could also put the M on top so it's like a cap on the letters.

You know, I like that idea, and I just noticed the fact that I never included the letter N! How embarrassing.

Best try so far. That envelope deformation is a bugger. I'm just trying to use it on the M alone. Keeps bending and angling in ways I don't want. Not to mention just plain taking off hither and yon.

Last tweak before I head off to work. I think this one may be it...

Exactly! But you can do the same thing with each letter...leave out the b, then use the other letters to make the shape of the b, and so on and so forth! So every letter will be made of up all the letters except the one it is. An alphabet of alphabets.

Ah!!! I just just didn't see where you were taking the idea. That is cool! Also, it is quite a huge idea. I'm going to have to ponder this one. Very cool.

Yeah! Like that.

I didn't even notice no N I actually thought I saw it and had to look back so...Maybe everyone is as blonde as me and didn't notice either. :hehe

Glad you like it. I not only planned it, counting the letters to make sure which letters went on each side of the A; I was in my third iteration before I noticed. Whoa!

I thought the "Z" you used was the "N" and that you forgot the "Z".
"N" is overated anyway... :hehe

I personally have no use for the letter N, but I felt compelled to include it so as not to bring down the wrath of the Pro N lobby.
