What's the best/easiest way to extract images from a vector? I have some .eps files I need to extract images from. I read how to do it with Inkscape, but was hoping there was an easier way. Inkscape is so foreign to me, haha. Is there any specific programs out there that will extract?

Not tried this myself.. seems legit though (and free)
not sure if extraction is the same as conversion in this case, but anyway, for what it's worth..
http://epsviewer.org/screens.aspx

also they have an online converter, here: http://convertepstojpg.com/

Thanks. I downloaded, and installed it, but it wouldn't open for me.

Weird, I know with my version of IrfanView there is a plug-in available (postscript.dll) - it might only work on the 32-bit version though (not all PlugIns are ported (yet) to 64-bit), hope you get a result.

by Zero01.

IrfanView can open .esp files
with the plug-in installed,
but I'm not sure if it can save/export the image or not.

You can do it with PhotoShop.
I have PS and can do it for you,
if you wish.

Gimp opens an eps here - linux - gimp 2.8.20

Ad*be being always updating formats, no guarantees that a more recent file will open.

Can you post an example?

If you do not like Inkscape, then you probably do not like ImageMagick command line. Can be as simple as

Magick filein.eps fileout.png

I installed several eps viewers, and none would open up. I think my el junko pc is the main prob, haha. Getting worn out. I read that GIMP would open an eps file, but you had to have ghostscript installed. I'm not a techy guy, so that's out. It's not that big of a deal really.

Also, for some reason, when I select certain files in the brush manager, gimp crashes. It's when I select certain abr files. Never had that problem before.

Check the size of the .abr,
it's probably gigantic.
If so,
this could be causing your Gimp to crash.

I pulled all the folders out that had abr files in them, and ran them all through abrviewer. For some reason, some of the files got corrupted. They would make abrviewer crash when I tried to open them. Just got rid of them, and it seems to have taken care of the problem. When I selected a certain folder through brush manager, gimp would completely crash. I would delete the files out of the brushes folder, and also the active.txt file from the brushes_alternate, before I could restart it.

I installed Irfanview, with the plug-in, and it works great.

That's good to know.
Is there an export, or save as option available for the vector file?

I saved them as a .png, transparent background, then converted them to .gbr's for GIMP. Actually, there were many items on one page, and using GIMP, I cropped the one I wanted, and saved the result as a .gbr. Then I hit undo, cropped the next one I wanted, saved as .gbr, etc.
