Close; there's a lady whose daughter and my brother were in the same graduating class. Since college, I've been helping her with various computer issues. She lives literally on the next block yet I drive to her house when she needs help. lol

The sad thing is I walk 3 to 5 miles 3 times a week (did a 3 mile walk earlier today since I couldn't walk yesterday); it's just when I go to other folks home that I drive my car. lol

:)

Walking's great when it's for pure pleasure. When you have to be somewhere it's not so inspiring. Next block though??? :teeth

The only time I like to walk is when I am in a mall, then I can go for hours.

I usually walk 4.7 miles outside and twice a week (because I do a grocery run afterwards) I do a Mall walk for 2.5 miles; today I did a 3 mile walk at the Mall though. lol

I like climate control myself. ;)

If and when I do get the job that I finally got clearance for, I won't be doing too much walking anymore unfortunately. Still, the job's not been offered yet and the government is cutting back now, so, I might still only get the occasional contract job. Oh well; guess I need to think more positive. :)

Find a wood somewhere and take a regular weekend stroll - nice way to unwind. I'm lucky because I live right next to a wood.

I found an interesting and easy to use way of making Celtic and other knots. It's an open source java program called Knotwork Editor and you can get it from http://mac.softpedia.com/ ....

what i hate of fsite as softpedia is that they make hard trace back the original project...would be not a great effort put a evident link

Anyway i found the page and yes is a java app so works in windows too
looks a very interest app

Thanks PC, that's a much better link. I ought to know by now that Sourceforge is the place to go.

I'm looking at one called Knot maker. I found it through this forum: http://www.pcreview.co.uk/forums/knot-m ... 94448.html I can't find a home page but one of the links on the forum is a direct download link for it. It's designed for making fonts but I was thinking I could screengrab my knotwork, enlarge it in gimp and use it as a guide for the paths tool.

No need. Font Maker automatically installs a font that allows you to create your own knotwork. You just have to work out which letter corresponds to which shape.

Here's another free open source java program: Because of malware being found in SourceForge downloads, this link has been removed.
You have just four basic shapes to choose from that you can easily manipulate and re-design using a right-click menu.

This one's great fun - go on, have a click! Sadly, it's internet only. You can download the source but I'm not a coder so I wouldn't know what to do with it. I'd love to have an offline version.

On their main page, they got a celtic wormhole Erisian; think you saw that eh? lol

I know an easy way to create it (as long as you have a celtic circle knotwork). ;)

:)
