I just noticed that the last version open xcf as multiple pages so you may browse the various layer

But here a warning don't edit xcf in xnview or more excatly if you do, export in other format do not use "SAVE" (because can't save xcf but will not give warning about ,and if you try the file will be unusable )

That's a nice feature! I just downloaded.
I haven't noticed active development with Xnview or maybe I'm not paying attention.

My favored is IrfanView.
It can display xcf files, too.
But with Irfanview, you see the picture as it is displayed in gimp.
I checked XNView... IrfanView is better.

The same here, prefer using IrfanVu.
