Version 0.9 of MyPaint has been released.
MyPaint is an open-source painter program and works excellent as a companion program to GIMP. Most of my work these days is made in a combination of Mypaint and GIMP.
The program is available from
http://mypaint.intilinux.com/and works both for Linux, Windows and MaxOSX. It's translated to some 10 different languages.
Some news in 0.9:
A much improved brush engine and more compact brush editing features. You can now also easily download and install "brush packs" from the community, to expand your library of brushes even more easily. Brushes now support tablet tilt.
You can select initial zoom of your canvas, which goes some way towards using the infinite canvas at a known resolution. You also have a lot more control over things like colour directly from keyboard shortcuts. Saving to the native ORA file format is also much faster now, and if you install the ORA plugin for GIMP, you will be able to import/export files directly between GIMP and MyPaint.

Below are some screenshots (warning: rather large, which is why I put them last. You might recognize some of the example images, you can find them
here.):
A more "GIMP-like" interface, if so desired. Normally MyPaint is used without any windows showing, only having them pop-up when needed. Also shown is the tablet pressure configuration. New brush editor features and interface. The brush categories can be appended to with brush packs.Another view of the brush menu. The quick-colour select is also visible..
