I suppose you use this with Shellout?

@Rod: I tried with the shellout function, but - after having done some action with xnconvert - result is NOT returned to Gimp (it DOES return result with xnview). Can you try also?

Yes - I use ShellOut.py

It is important to set "Output"

OK, the difference with what I did is to KEEP the original filename, thanks; so, it worked!
