Like I've mentioned before I wanted to make a game...Well I kinda did, not really it's just a playing around test after watching this short tutorial I made a simple simple simple game test. I used Gamemaker for everything, for now I need to not overwhelm myself or else I'll drive my own self crazy. lol

I recorded myself playing with it so you all can see. :3 -It's nothing special but it makes me happy I made anything! xD I might make something a bit more...Well...Exciting. :lol But for now, this is a quant little start. xD

Video Here

Update -

I worked on it a bit more today and added 2 levels and other things. Video Here

I followed This tutorial to learn how to make character jump

Enjoy! :3

Like it. It's always a nice achievement when you manage to create something no matter how simple it may be.

I agree, and these simple types of game can become horribly addictive once you start playing them.

Nicely done. :)
One of my all time favorite ones was a game that had different rooms. In each room you had certain articles.Wood plank, blocks, ladders, and things like that. The object of the game was to escape each consecutive harder room by using the objects in it.
Quite addicting. I think it was called Castlemania.

Oh God, I know! Every play popcap games?
They give you an hour total to sample a game then you gotta pay them 20$, those games are evil I tell you!!! You start and you can't stop playing them! XD

Hmm, I never played that! I didn't play many of the older games but my brothers did! :3
Sounds like I'd either be addicted :geek or frustrated :gaah playing that.

I don't know if I should respond with pride or shame considering the lousy quality but yes I did! xD

Gamemaker has a thing to make sprites, so I made some quicky things to start but I'm getting a full idea for an actual game and if I made an actual game with planned graphics I'd use GIMP and/or/with MyPaint. :D

I'm gonna upload a new view thingy, I learned how to make the character jump (using a tutorial again) and go to the next room. :D
Thankfully this doesn't need coding so it's just settings. xD

Edit:
Video Here

That's really cool! It's funny we both seemed to have picked up the same hobby recently. I've been playing around with Stencyl. It's too bad we can't share coding tricks.
