I don't think this has been reported yet - the open-source painting application Krita is holding a Kickstarter for allowing to hire up to two people to work full-time for their 2.9 release.

Some select future features are:
- Improvements in transform tools, including perspective selections
- More layer styles (and allow more of those to be imported from PS)
- Further non-destructive layer functionality (Krita has had non-destructive layer filters since quite some time already)
- Further brush support, including better alchemy-like brushes and colour smudging
- Resource bundle manager
- A lot of stuff on display and vector manipulation

Krita is available for Linux and Windows; the super stretch goal is to add OSX support.

Does gimp have that symmetrical feature like Krita? I thought Krita was only for Ubuntu? How much are they going to pay for the programmers?

I don't remember right off but I don't think GIMP has mirror drawing out of the box.

Krita is most often used on Linux (like most OSS software) but it also works on Windows. OSX is a stretch goal for the kickstarter.

I don't know exactly how much they are going to pay the programmers, I presume it's calculated to be enough for six months of full-time work.
