Pat, you're not kidding about the addiction. I've got a slamming migraine but just had to work on one (for now). My favorite little bird. |

Thank you Issabella. Everyone's work is so beautiful and I really like this tutorial - I learned something about the paths tool, how to make my own line art and the use of BRL. |

The outcome as in the tutorial. Flipped the shadow because the position of the sun. also blurred it a bit, as the sun shines not so bright in the evening Here I added a dark gradient to match with the evening background, layer mode overlay. I saved the file, in case anyone has remarks to improve it Thank you for the detailed tutorial oldmangrumpy Dalia, beautiful your hummingbird with tulips |

Thank you for your comment OMG. It means a lot to me. It was a good tip to experiment with the selection and the layer mode. The gradient gave the outcome an extra dimension. Issabella and Pat625, thanks for your kind words. I think I had a bit luck with the choice of the right photo and of course the good tutorial from OMG. |

Ella: Love your horses! You were able to get that clear glass look. Dalia: I love Hummingbirds also. Have a feeder for them when they return north. Your glass ones are perfect! |

Dalia - I somehow missed your humming bird first time round and that is a shame, because it is a beautiful interpretation Pat625 - sometimes addiction is OK when you come up with excellent results; I love your exquisite glass butterfly Because of the recent revival of this thread, I thought I should try something out that was bugging me; as well as clear glass, I also wanted a result with thicker glass and more texture, but still virtually transparent. So let me know what you think about this slightly different approach with these too wedge tailed eagles - |

Thanks Dalia and Pat. Pat, I also tried a butterfly but didn’t like the outcome. Yours is beautiful OMG, I like the eagle outcome. With the original tut the objects look more fragile. I think it depends on which item you want to edit to see what the best result is. |

OMG: I love those Eagles. Very exact but clear. Did you do them differently? |

Thanks Dinasset, Ella Louise and Pat. Yes Pat there are a number of different steps involved, yet to be finalised and tested more. I also used a coloured image of the eagles and not line art as part of my GMIC learning exercise. I will try out a few more and if they seem to work OK, I will then tell you GC guys just what I did. |
