I like the metal texture one better alc; really does look like cut and bent metal plates. :)

Ahhh, digital origami is so amazing. It has to be really hard to get anything that looks realistic!

you could recreate that really easy
just make your shapes with the path tool and stroke it with a gradient

I like the brushed metal one better too alc59. I saw that tut a long time ago and just never tried it. When I saw yours done in brushed metal, I just had to give it a try with the Chipblock font.

Yes, but I guess the hard part would be actually drawing the shapes realistically. I don't know, maybe it is. I will have to try it...:D

- that's what i thought too! if you try it, will you post your results and tell us what the hard parts were? i think digital origami looks a bit too much like precision work for me, but maybe it's not as bad as i think :).

Yeah, I'll try it as soon as I get my laptop back from the shop. I think what I do is draw over an image first to get a feel for the thing and then do it by hand. I am leaning towards this image here (http://www.google.com/imgres?hl=en&safe ... s:20,i:237), but it may be too hard for a first try.

mariawendt: naah, that's just hard enough :). i believe it's better to try something hard that you want to do rather than something simple that you just don't care about.
