I duplicated my band layer and filled the dup with a gold gradient, added the text -flip the text vertically- merge hid one of the layers and ran the map object on the visible/selected layer, then hid the other one and ran it on that layer then used the eraser on the text band so the other layer would show through edit: the text needs to be off to the left (was just headed out the door when i saw your post, so i wrote this in a hurry)

wow, this is an awesome thread - definitely my favourite thread on gimp chat right now  ! i  love what you've all been doing here, so i came in to hand out some stars. the gimp metal star award goes to: alc59 - for posting the tutorial that started it all sir draconian - for that lovely ring with all the glittery stones in it - strange how well that would match a tiara i know, hint hint  lylejk - for a ring with a perfectly lovely texture to it - i'd love to have that texture on some real metal, probably not gold, but it would be a dream on silver. mike - for a daring design . probably a nice birthday gift for a masochist....he4rty - because that's billy boyd i see!!! congratulations to all the award winners, kindly keep your thank you speeches under thirty minutes. |

K1TesseraEna - the ring was created pretty much the same way as alc described expect I used the logo to alpha glowing hot script and some other tweaks that I can't recall to get the glow. |

i did this tutorial before, but i cant remember the adress i was for two wedding rings, engraved with names on the inside and the rings were connected |
