Very nice job of getting the text to fit around the ball. I always have a prob getting it to look like that. |

Fitting text to a ball is fairly simple, create your new layer and add Text, centre text to middle of layer. Then scale text layer to of half its original width, keep height the same, then set layer back to image size. finally map sphere and you should have a nice text effect on the ball. |

Thank you he4rty, I will be sure to give that a try. I have used many methods but none came out as nice as yours. |

It took me some fudging to get it to look right, but I think the basic idea of having the hight twice the width then mapping to sphere works very well. |

Should've mentioned that the text layer needs to be the same size as image before you halve the width. |

Saugoode has written some excellent mask scripts that allow you to copy a mask to all the visible layers and then apply all of them in one click. Click the link to each one of them, click Download, and copy them into your scripts folder. sg-copy-mask.scm sg-apply-masks.scm Eliminate steps 15, 16, and 17 in the tutorial. Instead, make the Mask Template layer and the Background layer invisible by clicking the eye next to each layer. Then select the Mask Template layer, right-click and click, "Copy mask to layers.", again, right-click the layer and click, "Apply mask on visible layers." Delete the Mask Template and Background layers. ![]() ![]() |
