This tutorial Requires LayerFX by Jonathan Stipe (I recommend you to download the latest version of it!)

Welcome to another tutorial made by me (Dutch). In this tutorial I will be showing you how to make Tron-like text, I recommend using the Tron font but it isn't required.

Step 1:

Create/Open an image.
Image

Step 2:

Type something using the text tool.

Step 3:

In the layer dialog set the opacity to 0%
Image

Step 4:

Right click on the text layer and go to Layer Effects » Inner Glow.
Image

Step 5:

Choose your settings, I really like the color 00FFFF. Then set the Blend mode to normal, the Opacity to 75%, the source to Edge, the Choke to 0, the Size to 5, the Contour to either Rounded Steps or Ring and the noise to 0. (I recommend enabling preview so that you can preview the effect) Once the outcome looks about right click the 'OK' button.

Now you should have a Tron-like text!

Final result:

Nicely done. But there is no need to use spoiler tags in your tutorials. Thanks. :)

Thanks, also thank you for removing the spoilers. And am I allowed to use spoilers if the are multiple ways to do the thing I explain in my tutorial? Look at my Text Border tutorial for an example.

Please use spoiler tags to hide information in your comments that would ruin or spoil a game for people who would rather figure it out for themselves.

To do this, simply wrap the desired text in spoiler tags.

Nice and quick tutorial. I added a duplicate and motion blurred it to give it a bit of a different look.
