Pat625 - Really like that snowflake especially on the dark background :hi5 .

I remember way back when I first started it was a a Wallace BRL snowflake that got me involved with that script!

I have tried this chrystalise thing but cannot seem to get any decent results - looks like I had better have another try

Lyle: For what it is worth, I have not yet given up on your "crystal binge." Still trying to improve! For this I used your tut instructions and played with the color, blending modes as suggested. I also used Issabella's background pattern that she was so nice to share with me. I modified it with G'MIC and added Light effects. Used some cloning here and there to improve. Made it larger this time. Hope this is an improvement!

Using two different layers (slightly different targets) and difference followed by equalize is the way I like to do these Pat. Regardless, the best thing is to have fun. :)

Lyle: Here is another try. At least I am persistent! I know a lot more I could do to this but it is late here and I am tired. Maybe later add to it. Suggestions please.

Thank you, Dinasset. I'm really trying to get that crystal glass look. Have been trying your new script version also. I need practice, practice, practice.

Ran the delaunay on the top layer set to difference and merged for starters, but then I went wack with it (just remember; you asked what I would do; lol). Also, I do like sparkles. :)

Nice tree. Issabella. You really got that crystal look.

Lyle: Still trying to get the effect. I did the initial engrave on top layer, Delaunay on both, top to difference, merge, equalize. Then some play with contrast, brightness, gradient mapping, and lens flare. Do you often run Delaunay a second time?

No; I do like using the Metallic Something gradient preset and dup overlay as well as Artshop's Iridescent filter (works fine via PSPI). Of course blending it all to taste. :)

Lyle and Pat, thank you for your comments. :)
Lyle, I was thinking of this sculpture in crystal and as you are a master in it. Can this be done in GIMP? It can be a huge challenge. :)

Uh; possibly if you can convert a person to a truss (wireframe) first and adjust the width of the frame before Delauney step, then maybe. Might try later. :)

Here's what I got so far. Again, if I had a real wireframe, I think I can get a better result, but how do you easily convert a person to a wireframe? That's the $100 question. lol

Anyway, took my droste flower (petunia from a few years back) and used Delauney to create wire frame of sorts, then did a lot of magical things (i.e., will have to re-invent the wheel if I try this again; lol). to get this result and it may not be what you want. :)

Issabella and Lyle - I am so impressed with the crystal results from both of you.

I must be missing something obvious in the workflow somewhere, as I have tried several times to do this crystal thing but the results were awful each time.

So I will obviously have to trawl back through this thread and work out the correct way to do it. :(
