I was asked to develop a tutorial to create a glass vase originally posted in my Glass Ornaments & Effects thread. I could not remember the exact colours I used originally, but I think this is close ...

Image

The tutorial is contained in the attached zip file, along with gradients and a clear gem e-map with which to create the glass. It is a detailed step by step approach, certainly not targetted at GIMP experts and certainly not a quickie!! :)

I have difficulty adequately proof reading my own documents, so please bear with me and let me know if there are any problems.

Definitely and awesome looking vase; maybe we can get Diego to create a python script to automate the process (you know how lazy I can be; lol). :)

Issabella - a speedy response and a brilliant outcome. well done :jumpclap

EDIT - it seems you also managed to overcome the errors I made in specifying the guidelines - even more well done.

Corrected PDF Tutorial v2 has now been place in first post

Thank you very much, OMG. I cannot really express how much I learn doing your tutorials! I really appreciate the time and effort you give to us to help us learn. Your tutorials are very organized and teach a very systematic way to proceed through the steps to completion. You also give some explanations for some steps which is also very helpful to understand why something is done.

Lyle should recognize the background I borrowed for the vase (and he says he is not a glass guru!)

Can't wait until I can start on the Brumbies!!

Thank you Issabella. It took me awhile as I did not have the time to do it all at once. OMG's instructions are explicit, aren't they! I liked your vase also. It is really glossy like real glass.
