I used 'Add Multiple Guides' for making this picture. It helped me a lot while drawing lines of the page. As I don't understand German language so I didn't change anything except the distance in pixels.

Any criticism is welcome.

I added that plug in and at first I couldn't locate it, but I did. It's a nice plug in, I just wish it was in English.

Thanks for welcome.
Thanks for English version of script.
I want to share with all of you the final result of incomplete image which I have posted yesterday.Gardening is my hobby as I love the plants. So this image utilizes two photographs of a small herb. Magnifying glass comes from PS tutorial and Paper effect comes from an Indesign tutorial. So this image involves many different techniques. There may be some flaws due to the absence of some tools/effects in gimp.

There are 3 changes that I made.
Can you spot them?

The 3d depth on the holes
Fixed see through shadow on first "ring" of handle.

You either A adjusted overall darkness of internal image of the earth, or B adjust the shadow of the magnifier in that region. Eyes are to old be sure which.

2 out of 3.
The shadow of the paper's holes and the small missing shadow near the upper part of the handle.

Thanks for comments.
I was able to locate drop shadow of the punch holes. This really improved the natural appearance of the page. Secondly I felt as if the jagged rim of the magnifying glass were more smooth.
I drew the magnifying glass while following a Photoshop tutorial. I was so pleased to complete it in Gimp that I gave up the further refinement of the image. Perhaps original tutorial is without this shortcoming.
Thanks once again.

Ok Wallace, I cant take credit for spotting it, although I should have seen it. But Rashid is right, the edges are "cleaner" somehow. How did You do that ?

How did You do that ?

That was the final 3rd modification I added to the image.
It's was done using the paths tool.
Stroking a line, one on the outside rim, as well as the inside rim.
Applying a slight Gaussian Blur to both lines and lowering the opacity to blend better.

A cookie for you too Rashid
