what you wanna do is open a picture of an eye and the way you do that is go to "file open as layers" or you can simply open your picture folder if u already have an eye picture just drag it to gimp than "duplicate layer" and where it says "mode" on the right side of that click and pick "overlay" than zoom on the eye and use the "path tool" than carefully select around the eye (it works better if you zoom in on the eye because you can see better around the eyes) than once you have selected around the eye click on the " select from path " that will select the eye than go to " colors " then go to " color balance " and mess around with the colors or you can simply use the paint brush which ever u prefer best but i personality like to use the color balance tool and there you go i hope i made sense

Yes, the instructions do make sense. I might add that you do need to close your path around the iris by clicking the last node to the first node, then do your select from path.

What i do is use the ellipse selection tool.
I create a selection around the colored part of the eye (adjusting it), and then use color balance.
Same method just a quicker selection. :)

The color balance is a nice and subtle way to change the color, especially when the layer is set to overlay.

I might suggest that when you're making a kind of written tutorial to help people learn things, it's easier to read when you put each step on a new line. Periods (or even commas) are also a good way of separating things like ideas and sentences. And it's been mentioned here before, but not everyone speaks English as their first or primary language and don't immediately see the letter U as the word "you". Changing that would help with understanding as well.

Pretty cool! Maybe a little too purply, but it's a nice color ;)
