Very pretty Molly!

I messed with my cameo, did color to alpha on it and removed the black in it. Putting it back over the background allowed that color to show through. I think it looks more like a "real" cameo that way.

didn't do much with background/shadow...just wanted to see if I could get a dimentional look to the main part. I wasn't sure how to make it look "domed", rounded...any suggestions?

that is so very nice 2-ton. I think it looks great.
I guess the only thing I would do different is add a couple of more rings to each side. Your background looks like pure silk.
Very nice.... thanx or doing my tutorial :keybdtype

The pinkish part is supposed to look like cameo stone, lol. I think using bevel wasn't quite the right thing to do. It should look more hard and rounded, like the 'opal' brushes. Bevel gave it a sort of 'pleated' look, lol. Hmmm, wonder if I merged the white and pink together, then mapped it to something round, maybe it would have that round depth to it.

Keep trying out different things and you might end up with a real master piece.
I guess that is what Gimp is all about cuz there are just so many tools we haven't even explored yet.
