That definitely is a work of art. Wonderful tutorial.

As an alternate way to put land on the planet, there are some great ways to do it with
File > Create > Patterns
in there you will find
Flat Land
Land
Render Map

This one was done with the Land pattern and using the Crown molding gradient. The possibilities in the Land dialog are many.

I tried one using the Land pattern. I think it worked out pretty well and was less work. I added some more noise to the black bg as it didn't show much. :hehe
