Written TutorialStep 1
New 800x600 (doesnt really matter).
Fill with a dark violet.
Step 2
Add Text. Have each letter a seperate text layer. You should use white so you can see wherer it is more clearly(unlike the video where i used black text...oops)
Step 3
Align Text with the align tool. Center it vertically then use the move tool and move it left or right, pixel by pixel with the arrow keys.
Step 4
Add a new transparent layer and with your gradient tool, go white to transparent, top to bottom.
Step 5
Cutout the Letters using this process
1.Alpha to selection on one letter.
2.Go to the Gradient layer (while still maintaining the selection)
3.Click Copy and then paste.
4.Set the pasted area as a new layer.
5.Repeat for each layer
(In this screenshot, turned the visibility off my original text layers)
Step 6
Delete All the other layers except for the new cutout letters and the background. Unfortunately unlike the photo below, you should have seperate layers for the letters. I accidently merged them when i took the screenshot but i undid it and continued the tutorial. The image should look like this, just ignore the layer dialogue box.
Step 7
Add color to your letters. Alpha to selection each layer and fill in any color (choose light colors) with the fill tool. OR like in the video, lock the alpha channel then fil or drag and drop from the forground and background picker.
Step 8
Turn off the visibility on the background layer and merge visible layers.
Step 9
Duplicate your colored letters now. On the bottom one, apply a gaussian blur of 10px.
Step 10
On that blurred text, apply a motion blur with these settings.
Step 11
Repeat step 10 but with the angle at 180.
Step 12
Add a reflection using this process.
1.Duplicate the text
2.Flip Vertically
3.Move down using arrow keys to the base of the original text
4.Add a layer mask(white)
5.Use the gradient tool from black to transparent and go fromt bottom to top of the text (not the whole layer)
6.Apply layer mask
7.Lower opacity to 50ish
Also, duplicate the text 3 or so times and set their modes to overlay. Keep the original text layer at normal mode.
Step 13
Add some final touches to the background. New transparent layer above the background. Use a white to transparent gradient (radial) and go from center outwards. Set to overlay. Duplicate.
Step 14
Flatten Image.
