Here are two of mine. I was thinking of adding some cloth texture to it.

Cool tut.

I did a few things differently with the layer modes. The finer plaid I used triangular wave to get a smaller plaid pattern.

I like that the best, too. I was trying to make plaid stockings. It probably would have been better to leave off the black outline.

I like the second one better (just personal preference), but you can also try colorizing the layer on the second one, to make it all one color. Just an idea.

Right stocking: Did a gold layer set to Difference. Got rid of the gold outline and made it black. Do need to play with this some more.

This tutorial appeals to my sense of play. The possibilities are endless. This one was done with a layer mask.

Today I played with other blend modes and have been coming up with some neat patterns. It's pretty limitless. But then again, Gimp's only real limit is in our minds!

Love all the ideas there but flipping heck if I could get it right I'd be lucky!!! Photomaster, on the last step of your tutorial I just cannot adjust the opacity on the grain merge layer at all!!

What happens when you try to adjust the opacity?
