noob question:

so i downloaded the 'script-fu-copy-rotate' and it took me really long to figure out, where it is acutally located in the menu
was expecting this to be under Script-Fu or maybe Rotate, but it is in the Selection menu..... :|

next i tried to rotate a line but it makes really weird things out of it, and i cant see what the logic is behind these actions
so what do you actually enter in the center x/y coordinates field ?
lets say my canvas is 600x400, that would make the center at 300x200, right
but apparently that is not the point this script uses as the center of rotation

halp ? :(

btw: dont these scripts come with some sort of manual ???

300 by 200 should be correct. Why did you not use a square canvas?

because it was just an experiment how the script works

after that i followed the instructions of this tut and the rotating worked okay

does this script only work with square canvas ??

Hi Drac, Great Tutorial. Thank you. Here is my result. I added one extra combination with the ribbing on the inside. I flipped the 90% reduced ribbed layer horizontally and vertically before merging with the bevelled layer so that I had a bevelled inner ribbed layer (lowest right) as well as your inner ribbed layer which looks flat. I only show a brass overlay on one bezel.

Very nice job wbool, nice variety.

I got right to the last step and got stuck on Step 21 on how to apply the colors to the bezels.

I have revised Step 20. and the resulting final examples to correct the shadow effects on the scaled down Ribbed layer since it is on the inside now. I have also updated the PDF to reflect these changes. Thanks to WBOOL63 for catching this for me. Your examples look perfect!

I'm surprised Molly. With your experience I would not expect this to be a problem for you but then I get confused quite often these days myself. Must have been a senior moment. :hehe (Don't go off on me now, I'm just kidding around)

Anyhoo, all I did was duplicate all three layers, lock the alpha channel on all of them and then one at a time fill the duplicates with whatever metallic color you like and set the layer Mode of the colored duplicates to Overlay. Just a basic color overlay. Hope this helps
