Tonight i made my first tutorial in the Deviant Art style.
Its the Plastic Text or iText or Shrek Text tutorial (whatever you wanna call it)

Apparently the Lighting Effects Filter changed a bit, so my version of the tut is the updated version.

Doing the tutorial DA style was harder than i thought, so its not very "arty", which is probably good for readability - hope you like it anyway.

An excellent presentation Esper, It's clear and easy to read and I'm sure you will produce more

Steps could be labeled though example Step1, Step2 e.t.c. so that the reader has a point of reference

Good job, Esper!
FYI, For tutorials you can change your language in Interface preferences. You need a restart.
I use English, here's mine in German.

thanks everybody, glad you like !

i mainly made it because for me its important to at last know how a certain effect is done and possibly have a few notes to refresh memory
especially the lighting effects are hard to remember

@Graechan: i will ty to incorporate some sort of numeration next time
@Odinbc: didnt think about changing the language - i remember i did something else to have my Gimp in german...it was something with my windows but i cant remember what it was
but changing the language via the preferences works !

esper, I love your tutorial but I want to make it into a pdf for myself but I am unable to copy it into libreoffice. It doesn't let me hi-lite it. Is there a way to do that?
Thanks

When I apply the lighting effects to the black layer, there is nothing in the layer after I do that. It is a totally transparent layer.

I like that the tut isn't all artsy fartsy, it's so easy to read this way. Some tuts have such busy backgrounds that it make the text very hard to read.

Yes. I did.

Was wondering if anyone else is having the same problem.

I did. I thought it was because I used a different font.
