Only a few and then I got lost. It was just too confusing. It would have helped if they were numbered and if the tutorial was explained a little better.

I gave it a go and had no issues making this tutorial work.

When you begin the step 4 you must have two layers, both circular shape, background and recorder.

Background layer:

and recorder, what is the layer where noise and motion blur was applied.

This step 4 only is using to shrink a bit the external edge (or surface) in order to can see the edge on the background layer to simulate the "ring" where turntable needle is pick down.

In step 5 the surface of microgroove obtained is a shape like this:

You must see something like this (without the drill in the center):

May be that you can see better the screenshots in the spanish tut. You can use the translator.
