I've made a tutorial on how I colorize black and white images with layers. It's a more hands on approach than filters, and I just wanted to share it here.

I like that result molly. The colors are very soft, it fits with the baby theme.

Thanks EK. I am looking for something more challenging now. Love that tutorial by the way. I don't use layer masks often enough and it is very good practice for that.

ek22: this is exactly the kind of stuff i should try, i need to practise working with layer masks too. thanks for sharing.
molly:you did a great job on that last one! beautiful colouring too - maybe the saturation on the car colour could be toned down a little, but that's a matter of taste of course.

Thanks AnMal. I made the car that bright so he can say that is his bright red car. I was going to tone it down but thought he might like the fire engine look.

Edit: I went back and toned it down AnMal...I agree, it does look better.
