that looks good, nice lighting - but i'm not sure i think that wood looks very rustic, it looks highly polished and rather industrial to me

My problem was and is I know the difference of the layers to put in the bump map cuz I have them all named, gaussian, motion, etc. but I never remember what layer I should have selected when I do this. If I have motion selected in the bump map, which layer should I have selected in my layer dialogue.
you always select the layer you want to be bumpmapped - isnt that obvious ?
i mean you apply an effect, so that it looks more and more like this three-dimensional wood
the bumpmaps are just helpers to get there
instead of making a bumpmap as a layer, you could apply the same filters (gaussian blur and motion blur) to the selected text saved to a channel - then the layers would be out of the way
@Graechan: very nice results and cool font you chose !
more woodwork:
i did this with motion/blurred channels and tried to use the same bumpmap values regarding angle and azimuth, the clouds were the usual layer
