I'm not sure if this really a proper place for this, but GIMP is going to figure so heavily in the second part that I figured I'd give it a go. My apologies if this is not on topic.
So, a couple of weeks ago I made mention that I was going to do a start to finish post for shooting a portrait and using only F/OSS in the workflow. This is the first part of that post:
The Open Source Portrait (Equipment & Environment)This part walks through the concept, equipment, location, and shooting of the images for creating the portrait shown. I'm trying to be as open and complete as I can, but if you guys find anything lacking please let me know so I can correct it.
The second part will be all about processing the RAW files (Rawtherapee in my normal workflow), and then all of the final portrait retouching in GIMP (G'MIC for noise reduction beyond what the NR does in Rawtherapee if needed, Wavelet Decompose, healing/cloning areas for hair and environment, etc.).
