finally got down to trying this! i got myself into trouble pretty quick because i didn't want to use a boring model pic, i wanted a face i like. so i hunted up a picture of a bollywood actress without make up and of course it was the wrong picture to make a first try with - partially very blurry, low on contrast and colourwise a completely different kind of photo than the one ek22 used. i tried doing the wavelet denoise and the other preparatory steps, but they didn't look good, so i gave it up. then of course i had to try for a completely different kind of make up than the tutorial shows, which was the next stupid choice. bollywood actresses are usually mad up to look very light skinned, so i wanted to see if i could get her to look a bit tanned instead. it took me so much time and it still came out looking unnatural! then when i was finished i hated the blurry parts so i just motion blurred everything except her face, which looks a bit funny
. well, it was a great tutorial anyway and i learned heaps! and i'm very happy with the eye shadow and lipstick, ek22:s technique made it so easy to get that right. i suppose i'll have to try this again starting from a boring model pic instead.
