Hi all,

I had originally written a tutorial back in 2011 about how I created this image:

Image

That's my daughter literally bouncing right out of her bed. The tutorial was published on PetaPixel, and I only just recently remembered it. So I figured I would just add it to the list of tutorials on my site.

The image above is composited from 6 different images (of about 25 that were actually shot). My daughter, each of her stuffed animals, and the crib are all from different images.

Basically a game of shooting multiple images from the same location with the same light, and compositing in GIMP with lots of layers & masks.

For instance, here's the base image for her, with me in the frame:

Didn't know if anyone over here would be interested, but here it is:

That is really very clever. Your baby girl is adorable. Thank you for the tutorial and for sharing.

Thank you very much, she's a peach!

The technique isn't really new or innovative, just lots of masking and patience. I just figured anyone who wanted to try something like this could find a basic walkthrough helpful to get started...

Thats really a GREAT work!
When I take photos of children, I always think "what will they think about this photo, when they are older"
I think, she'll love it and laugh and she will REALLY have fun!

Now that's a very cool result PD; your daughter looked like she had a wonderful time with this too and that's what's important. :)
