molly: a really beautiful result! that must feel very satisfactory after the initial trouble :).
rellik419: nice job! i love your slightly darker version.

i did what i always do, no surprises there! :hehe i started out with a text, but got bored before i'd reached step 4 and redid everything with some paisleys instead. had no problems whatsoever following this excellent tut - well done, ek22! - but experimented a lot underway. my original bismuth xcf has 109 layers, but in that file i have results with two colour sets and 6 different chrome curves, among other things. in the end, i liked these three best:

Very nice Anmal, I like the way you put the wider strip around the edge.

Oh wow, you guys went to town with this one, lol. Molly, i'm glad you were able to make sense of it. I sometimes worry my ramblings aren't legible. You got it right on the money though. This pleases me. AnMal, looks good with the paisley. Apparently it's a very paisley friendly effect. Tony, nice work there, thanks for trying it.

I had to do a cover for my next slide show so thought this is my favorite tutorial so I used this one again. Your instructions are very clear EK and well illustrated. thank you again

Forgot about this one so gave it another try tonight. Too lazy to do the air-brushing.

It is beneficial for all of us when somebody posts outcomes from older tutorials. Had a go at this one and learned a lot (Gimp rocks!) -

So thanks ek22 wherever you are.
