Hi, first of all I would like to say that English is not my native language, so if you see that I misspell something you know why, Spanish is my native language. Anyway, I would like to share with you guys my latest tutorial. This tutorial shows how to create a "Fire Text Effect" but it's something different. I hope you like it.

XGEOUS Rocks! Another excellent tutorial. Simple to perform with great results.

I am curious however how to get those animated effects like you see when relocating a dialog on the screen. It looks like it's flexible and sort of waves or wiggles when moved to a new position. Is that something that can be added to Gimp like part of a theme or is it something else?

Thanks guys for your comments I really feel welcome here. Thanks Rod for embedding the video, I tried and I couldn't, maybe because I am new to this forum I couldn't find how to do it. Draconian, you can use those effect under Linux only. If you use Linux you can enable them by installing Compiz. Esper thanks for your comments, I feel happy that you like it, especially that 3D text tut.

I like the fire effect
made some 3d text and ran the G'MIC filter -sequences/edges on fire
duplicated the layers a few times and used the smudge tool on the layers

Or using the KDE 4 desktop, it has some of those effects :)
